New book in the library:
LIFE IN THE SHADOW OF DEATH, written by Michael Whitworth. It discusses what the bible says about grief, how to comfort those who grieve, and to know that we are never alone in the “valley of the shadow of death”.
MAKING LOVE LAST FOREVER, written by Gary Smalley. Shows how married couples can stay in love through all stages of married life.
SOLID ANSWERS, written by James Dobson. America’s foremost family counselor responds to tough questions facing today’s families.
These two books were donated by Belinda Hopkins.
Meals for Mrs. Edna Sanders
Ladies, some of you have indicated that you would still like to help provide meals for Mrs. Edna Sanders. If you would like to take a meal to Mrs. Edna on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays (before 5:00 p.m.), please contact Hollye in the office. You can prepare and take a meal or you can pick up “drive-thru”. There is still money available to purchase meals thanks to your previous generous donations.
Continue to keep all our Chase Park members and families in your prayers as well as those in our communities.
Our Homebound members – keep them in prayers and check on them from time to time.
We have several of our church family who are staying at home due to their health issues and COVID restrictions. Keep them in your prayers and let them know we hope they can be back with us soon.
CHASE PARK HAPPENINGS
New “Willing Hands” Ladies Ministry
Proverbs 31:13. “She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.” We are going to be starting a new ministry opportunity for the ladies here at Chase Park - crocheting blankets for members (sickness, weddings, babies, etc.). It will be a form of outreach as well. Our first meeting will be Monday, November 2, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the Dining Room. We will spend some time reviewing and teaching crochet techniques, so being a crochet expert is NOT required! You just have to have willing hands! Contact Valerie Matheny with questions or for more information.
Pantry Item/Food Donations
For the week of October 18, 2020: Canned Fruit.
From Toney Atchley and Brandon Karraker: If anyone wants to make a non-perishable food donation to the building, bring your items in a bag or box to the office entrance, “buzz” the intercom and let Hollye or Stefanie know it’s there. They will contact us to come pick up and place the items in the Benevolence Food Pantry. Thank you.
This is all my news and updates for this morning. Stay well and check on your family, friends, and neighbors.
