Charlotte, North Carolina
Barton & Allison Kizer

Barton and Allison Kizer serve in church-planting efforts among the Hispanic population in Charlotte, NC. They had previously worked with a team in Cusco, Peru for nine years to establish a church-plant there.

The mission work in Charlotte, NC exists to empower local congregations to reach out to newcomers in Charlotte, primarily those belonging to the Hispanic community. The mission is essential for many reasons. First, there are hundreds of thousands of immigrants living in the area, but there is very little church-planting activity. Second, area congregations are looking for ways to reach out to this community. Third, the mission team is working to establish bilingual church-plants that will reach all generations of the family.
While the main focus of the mission is church-planting, there are also ministries to teach English using the Bible, assist in legal immigration, offer various children’s ministries, and serve with marriage enrichment. These all come together for the building up of the church.
Barton and Allison serve with their teammates, Gary and Jennifer Reaves, and the Kizers have four children, Cole, Celia, Elias and Alba. Please follow updates on the work through the Facebook group, “Charlotte for Christ” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1016156818751725/).
